Frequently asked questions

Is RetroTeam shutting down?
RetroTeam has said it is winding down. Its homepage carries a farewell notice saying the team has decided to focus on interviewing instead, and it points visitors to the team's new interview-coaching product, ChannelPulse. The app, pricing page and docs are still online, but no shutdown date or migration path has been published.
Can I keep using RetroTeam while it winds down?
For now, yes. But the boards, actions and history your team builds sit in a product whose owner has said they are moving on, which is hard to plan around. Most teams in this spot would rather choose where they land than have the date chosen for them.
How do I move my team from RetroTeam to TeamRetro?
Moving across is light. Export any RetroTeam retro reports you want to keep, then start your next retro from a ready-made template you can customize, invite the team by link, and carry your open actions over so the last few sprints don't get dropped. Pricing is per team, with unlimited members on multi-team plans, and TeamRetro is SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR compliant for when IT asks.
What is RetroTeam and how does it work?
RetroTeam.ai is an online tool for running agile retrospectives, though its team has said it is winding down. Teams can add feedback, group similar ideas, vote, and discuss outcomes on a shared board. It also offers AI-powered features (like summaries and suggested actions), and every plan, including Free, comes with a set number of AI credits for them. TeamRetro, the alternative to RetroTeam, is an enterprise-ready agile retrospective and team health check tool that helps teams turn feedback into real, trackable improvement. It offers a structured end-to-end facilitation flow, a large library of proven templates, action tracking to support follow-through between sessions, and team health checks to help teams measure and improve over time. It also includes AI-powered features to help teams work faster and more effectively, such as summarizing discussions, identifying themes, and helping facilitators turn retro insights into clear action items. It features an intuitive interface that enables retrospectives to run smoothly and integrates seamlessly with a wide range of workflow tools. TeamRetro is also SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR compliant.
What happens when my AI credits are used up?
In RetroTeam, every plan includes a set number of AI credits for insights, action items and grouping (10 on Free, 50 on Premium, 150 on Pro), and when they run out, RetroTeam's FAQ says to move up a plan or buy a one-time pack of AI credits. Teams can still run retrospectives, but AI-powered tools are no longer available. TeamRetro, on the other hand, is fully effective without relying on AI credits. The core experience is structured and facilitator-friendly, helping teams consistently reach meaningful outcomes without worrying about usage limits. AI features are built in to support efficiency and facilitation, and are designed to enhance the process rather than gate it behind consumption-based limits.
What tools does RetroTeam integrate with?
RetroTeam lists Jira as its only integration. TeamRetro offers deep integrations with Jira, Trello, Confluence, MS Teams, and more.
Does RetroTeam allow for anonymous feedback?
Yes, RetroTeam lets team members submit reflections and vote anonymously, which helps encourage open feedback. TeamRetro allows for anonymous, named, and alias feedback, allowing flexibility and trust building for both emerging and mature agile teams.
How much does RetroTeam cost?
RetroTeam's pricing is tiered, and both team size (user limits) and AI usage (credits) can affect what you pay. If you exceed the user limit on your plan, you generally need to upgrade to a higher tier. If AI credits run out, RetroTeam's FAQ says to upgrade to a higher plan or buy a one-time pack of AI credits. TeamRetro is designed for predictable, scalable use. Instead of pricing that is tightly constrained by user caps and credit-based AI usage, TeamRetro's pricing is structured to support ongoing team adoption and regular retrospectives without teams feeling forced to upgrade just because more people need access or because AI usage spikes. This makes budgeting easier and costs more stable as usage grows.
