TeamRetro is an EasyRetro alternative built for teams whose retro has become a habit rather than an occasional meeting. It adds scheduled and recurring retros, health-check models and radars, 275+ templates, and its own SOC 2 Type 2 certification.
Start with what EasyRetro gets right, because it matters to the decision. It is genuinely fast, it has a free plan you can live on for a while, its entry tier is $25 a month with no member cap, and it exports to more formats than we do. It is also still being built: hide-column controls shipped in January 2026, mid-phase timer pause and resume in June, and the web app moved off AngularJS onto Vue mid-year. If someone told you EasyRetro was abandoned, that is not what the changelog says.
Where teams do leave is the point at which a board stops being enough. There is no way to schedule the next retro, no health-check model to trend the same questions sprint after sprint, and action items live on the board they were created on rather than carrying into the next session. The AI stops at one board summary, so you still drag cards together by hand. And the governance answers run out at exactly the moment a second team joins: no SOC 2 audit of EasyRetro itself, US-only hosting, SAML SSO from the $90 tier, and no SCIM. TeamRetro is built the other way round, which is why Big Give moved across when actions kept getting lost between campaigns.

Should I stay on EasyRetro?
Often, yes. If your team runs a retro now and then, one person facilitates it comfortably, nobody is asking for a security questionnaire, and you need a free plan or a $25 tier with no member cap, EasyRetro does that job well. Come back to this page when the retro becomes recurring, when a second or third team wants one, or when someone asks who audited your vendor.
Is EasyRetro still being maintained?
Yes. Its changelog shows hide-column controls in January 2026, mid-phase timer pause and resume in June 2026, and the web app being rebuilt from AngularJS onto Vue between May and July 2026. The product is small and actively worked on, not abandoned. What has not moved is the shape of it: still one-off boards, still no health checks, still no scheduling.
Is FunRetro still available?
FunRetro was renamed EasyRetro in November 2020. Same company, same product, same accounts, and funretro.io now resolves to easyretro.io. So there is no separate FunRetro to compare: if you are looking for FunRetro, EasyRetro is where it went, and everything on this page applies.
Is Easy Retro the same as EasyRetro?
Yes. Easy Retro and EasyRetro are the same tool written two ways, so everything on this page applies whichever spelling you searched for. The short version of the comparison: Easy Retro gives you a fast, clean retro board, while TeamRetro adds what turns retros into a standing habit, meaning guided facilitation, recurring schedules, health checks and actions that carry into the next session.
How does the free version of EasyRetro work? Is it a free retro board?
EasyRetro's free plan allows you to create up to 2 public boards per month, and keeps only 2 boards on the dashboard including archived ones. You cannot create a team or team boards, and there is 1 survey per board. Participants are unlimited, which is genuinely generous for a free tier. TeamRetro has no free forever plan. Instead you get a 30-day trial with every feature in it and no card required: private boards from the start, unlimited retrospectives and health checks, and multiple teams so more of the organization can try it at once.
When do I lose my public boards?
EasyRetro clarifies that you don't lose existing public boards if your trial ends or if you downgrade. However, to keep using premium features like private or team boards, you'll need a paid subscription. With TeamRetro, all your retros are private and your data will not be lost. You can decide to upgrade to a paid plan, and your existing data will be available. You can also request deletion of your data.

Can I export and transfer my retrospectives from EasyRetro? How do I move retros?
You probably don't need to. Most teams start their next retro in TeamRetro from a template, bring their open actions across by hand, and leave the old boards where they are as a read-only archive. If you do want the history, EasyRetro exports boards to PDF, CSV, image, Excel, Word, Confluence and Jira, and our support team will help you land the data in TeamRetro.
How secure is EasyRetro for handling our team's data? Is EasyRetro SOC 2 Type 2 certified?
EasyRetro provides standard data security features, including encryption and privacy controls. It is GDPR compliant, and SAML SSO is available from its higher tier upward rather than on every plan. There is no SCIM provisioning, and data is hosted in US Central with no EU residency option. It is not SOC 2 Type 2 certified in its own right but relies on third-party certified infrastructure. TeamRetro is built with enterprise-grade security from the ground up.
