The Quick Pulse Check

What is a quick pulse check?

The quick pulse check is a tool that delivers fast and regular scans of a team’s ‘vital signs’. It is built to be a dynamic and easy way to gain insight into how a team is feeling. This team health check is tied to productivity. It helps a team leader gauge current capacity while being mindful of quality and team morale.

The quick pulse check has been designed to be deliberately simple. This is so that it can be used with greater frequency without becoming annoying for the team. The frequency with which the checks happen is driven by the context of the team.

Understanding the core dimensions of a quick pulse check

The quick pulse check is built around five dimensions that can be measured and tracked. This health check invites each member of the team to indicate how they feel about each element.

A team leader can more regularly see how the group feels. They can talk through what that means for the team before issues escalate.
